“TAILHIGH continues its journey of creating innovative outdoor experiences with you as a companion dog outdoor brand.”

We conducted a field test of the commercial version of the Anti-Bug Active Suit (ABAS), scheduled for release in Spring 2025. ABAS, which is also TAILHIGH’s first all-in-one wear, will be released in three colors.

Development Background

As winter passes and warmer seasons approach, we needed a product for companion dogs to enjoy hiking freely from ticks and various insects. The development began in late summer 2024, searching for fabric and designing patterns that could provide eco-friendly insect repellent treatment while being wearable for three seasons with optimal activity.

Weather / Temperature / Wind Speed:

The test was conducted at Muuido Murenggeti point under cloudy conditions at 2°C, in environments where spring insects are typically found (grasslands, reed fields).

Test Results Summary

A. Mobility:

Dogs running through the reed fields wearing ABAS.

  • 4Way Stretch fabric’s high elasticity didn’t interfere with any activity or posture
  • Comfortable fit for both lean and fuller-bodied dogs
  • Intentionally non-tight design provided comfortable fit
  • Front chest pleats provided comfort when sitting or lying down

B. Durability:

  • No fabric damage from continuous movement through reed fields
  • No tearing from rock friction
  • No pilling or damage where friction occurred with Hybrid Harness

C. Wearability and Coverage:

A scene in which an activity test involving sitting, standing, and running is being conducted.

The long snood that covers up to the head can provide more effective protection against pests.

  • No discomfort observed during various positions and activities
  • Excellent coverage including inner thighs
  • Leg sleeves stayed in place regardless of weight and leg length
  • Comfortable collar hole positioning and width

D. Visibility:

The reflective detail applied to the chest and the back of the neck is effective for locating in dark places.

The three colors applied provide high visibility even in various environments.

  • High-frequency attached reflective logos remained secure during stretching
  • Reflective details proved very useful for locating dogs in shaded areas

Test Summary

  • Slight aromatic scent from eco-friendly eucalyptus-based insect repellent treatment
  • Confirmed as functional wear suitable for various activities
  • Easy to put on and take off due to 4-way stretch
  • Breathable 3D knit fabric suitable for spring through fall
